Anna Hazare, the modern Gandhian is visiting Bangalore city on May 27 & 28, after the grand success of his anti corruption movement held in Delhi.
He has proved that if a citizens can think, then it can be achieved not by violence but by non-violence movement taught by Gandhi. He has initiated the process of Lokpal bill , which will draw guidelines for the Anti-Corruption movement in the country.
He is visiting Bengaluru on May 27 and 28, in order to meet with Government representatives and also a public meeting will organized on May 28 at the National College Grounds in Basavanagudi, Bangalore. This meet will also be attended by Arvind Kejriwal, Swami Agnivesh and Kiran Bedi.
On May 28, Anna Hazare will be with the public in order answer and take suggestion on how to remove corruption from the society and what are they looking and ideas of Lokpal Bill draft.
To give an overview about Lokpal Bill:
- The Lok pal bill aims at corruption free society in all sector of the business in India.
- Independent members should be appointed with respective elective process which will involve judge, constitutional members, and citizens.
- The citizens can directly complaint to the Lok Pal or Lokayuktha.
- Both the committee needs to have power to legal action against the person involved in corruption.
- All the complaint needs to look into a month time, with a time span of one year.
- This committee should work in line with CBI to take action on any person in the country.
With few days to go for his visit in the Bangalore city, donations have been started pouring from all citizens and volunteers across the city and state, in order to support the event and movement. The organizers have mentioned that the total expenses for the event is approx Rs. 5 lakhs. However, the contribution from each citizens and volunteer across the state have been pouring in the new account opened by the organizing committee.
The committee has made it clear that they have not asked any one to donate or did they approach any one to donate. It is from an email that triggered and money started pouring into the account. There has been smallest to highest contribution in the account and a approx of 1.16 lakh rupees were collected in single day.
Over 300 volunteer have signed up and 2000 people have confirmed their attendance during the event.
