Sankey Tank Road trees to be cut down

BBMP has decided to axe 19 trees on the stretch of Sankey Tank Road for road widening in order to ease the traffic congestion from Cauvery Circle to Bhashyam Circle.

BBMP has sold all the 19 trees for just Rs. 1.2 lakhs, however, as per estimation of the other agency, these trees could cost any where around Rs. 5 lakhs.  Now what does this mean Corruption in the BBMP house with tree vendors. BBMP has already cut down 3 trees though the High court has ordered an stay on the same and protest being carried by the citizens across the region.

BBMP has gone forward and cut down the trees, where as the protestors were spectators washing their trees fall down.  BBMP has mentioned that in order to curb traffic they will need to widen the road by 30 meters which means out of 69 trees on the stretch they are just cutting down 19 trees of them.  Many people started protesting against the cut down of trees in the area.  Citizens were holding a peaceful march across the region and hugging the trees which are were reading to go under axe.

Many social organization, students, professionals, NGO's of have joined the cause Save Trees Save Bengaluru and were taken into custody by the police officials by dragging them into the van and then released after 1 hour.  No serious action were taken on the protestors.  However, people started protesting and stopping the traffic movement in order to get their support on not to cut down trees.

KSRTC and BMTC increase their bus fares and passes

With Government increasing the price of Diesel, LPG Gas and Kerosene on Friday. Which was quite evitable that there may be increase in some of the transportation services cost too.

This time it was not the auto union who has planned to increase their minimum fares from 17/- to 20/- which they had plans before.  Now it was time it was the turn of the KSRTC and BMTC to increase their bus fares and passes.

BMTC has decided to increase the price by 5% (upto Rs.2 ), with KSRTC deciding to raise between 5 - 8% on different categories of buses. BMTC has also decided to increase the price of daily passes by Rs. 5/- with immediate affect.  However, there was no increase in minimum fares.

Daily Passes Past you paid Now you will pay
Daily Pass (General) Rs. 35 Rs 40
Daily Pass (General without identity proof) Rs 40 Rs. 45
Vajra Daily Pass Rs 85 Rs. 90

Here you go Railways have decided to increase their fares by 5%-10% across all the trains, This price increase is due to the increase in diesel in prices which has affected the Railways also.

Price raise in Diesel, Kerosene and LPG Gas

With the Government making a decision for the increasing the Diesel, Kerosene and LPG Gas prices after the election and also when it is time to introduce the Lokpal bill in the Parliament.

The basic necessities of “Aam Aadami” or Common Man, which needs Kerosene and LPG Gas in order to cook their food and Diesel which is needed most by the Transportation in order to ferry the basic commodities and essential services in now going to be costlier. With the inflation of food prices now reaching double digit and RBI increasing their loan rate. It is now becoming harder and harder for common to survive.

With Government deciding on Diesel as Rs 3/- and LPG Gas to only Rs.50/- and Kerosene by Rs. 2/-. This will increase the burden on the LIG, MIG and BPL citizens across the country.

How will this affect our pockets?

With the last increase of Rs. 5/- on petrol, it was hard to decide where and how to save their money on the increase of the petrol price in order to commute. Now with the increase of diesel it will hard hit on the transportation which commute and brings the basic necessities things to the city. The most affected will be truck drivers where they do not have the increase in their salaries or transportation cost.

  • Increase in diesel is adversely affected by increase in basic commodities such milk, vegetables, fruits, grains and agriculture.
  • Increase in transportation prices which have already affected the Bangalore city with KSRTC and BMTC increasing their basic fares.
  • LPG Gas which is basic essential in our daily needs increasing by just only Rs. 50/- will also now be costlier.
  • Is this Government for Aam Aadami or Rich people or only for politician to fill up their pockets in the various scam.

Some facts that you would like to know:

  • Politicians get free petrol, diesel and Gas where they travel across the country.
  • The Government all the subsidies for them and which gain the citizens money, which is utilized by the politician for their entertainment.
  • Government has various kinds of tax implemented on central and state government which increase the price of the petrol, diesel and kerosene.
  • If these are brought down then approx. we will be very less for each of them.

Ramdev Baba arrested and sent to Haridwar.

After all the intesities which has been going on the demands raised by the Baba Ramdev related to Black Money and corruption in India.  Congress Government yesterday released a press conference stating that the Baba Ramdev is doing wrong and he should not have went with the hunger strike at the Ram Leela Maidan.

Kapil Sibal released a note which has been signed by the Balakrishna Acharya, a closed associate of Baba Ramdev, stating that Government has accepted some of their demands and will go on hunger strike from 4-6 June.  However, Baba Ramdev never mentioned of this deal in his last complete agitation which made the party to hold press conference.

However, Ramdev Baba has made it clear that letter was written in order to forward the request to the Prime Minister and unless he get written assurance from PM, he will continue his agitation of hunger strike.

However, Congress Government released orders to its Delhi Police, who reached Ram Leela Maidan right in the midnight and started Lathi charges, tear gas and arrested Baba Ramdev at 2:40 am.

He has been taken to the Safardargunj Police station and the Government has planned to air lift Baba Ramdev and leave him at his Patanjali YogPeeth in Haridwar.  All permission and required formalities have been completed and any time Baba Ramdev will airlifted from Safardargunj airport by helicopter and dropped at Haridwar

Baba Ramdev Demands for Central Government

Baba Ramdev has made it very clear that he has no support from any party or organization.  His hunger agitation is for the people, by the people. He is not looking for any kind of position or not will contest in any election.

His main aim is to bring back the black money which is stores in the foreign banks from our own country citizens and making our country poorer and poorer.  According to Ramdev Baba there is about 4 lakh crores of black money stored in the foreign banks.

He wants that Government to bring back the money and declare it a national assets and make use for the country development.

"Bhrashtachar Mitao Satyagraha" Demands of Baba Ramdev

    1. Declare accounts of Indians in tax havens as national property - GOI must declare all tax haven accounts of Indian corrupts to be national property through an ordinance and later with enactment of a bill. This is a very easy step to execute and does not conflict with any foreign policy, treaty or agreement.

    2. Declare stashing away black money in tax havens as national crime - GOI must declare the act of stashing away of black money in swiss banks as a 'Rajdroh' or national crime because it has led to disasters in our country. 883 people die every HOUR just because of malnutrition and hunger whereas corrupt people out there are carrying out scams worth lakhs of crores which could be used for the development of our nation. Such big scams are only because stashing away of money in swiss banks is very easy for the corrupt.

    3. Death penalty and lifetime imprisonment for the corrupt - GOI must pass a law to enforce death penalty or lifetime imprisonment on people who are found to be guilty of corrupt practices. The only reason that corruption is so widespread today is that there is no punishment for the corrupt and they enjoy luxurious freedom inspite of putting the nation at stake.

    4. Enactment of a strong Lokpal - The government must now enact a strong Lokpal which can control corruption in the country. Corruption is now a cancer for us and Lokpal is a great weapon against it. India Against Corruption is heading this movement and we give full support to them.

    5. Setting up of fast track courts in all states to deal specially with corruption issues - The government needs to setup fast track courts in all the states so that punishing the corrupt becomes easy. Crores of cases are pending in courts at the moment which would take years to clear up. We need faster execution and stronger laws to deal with this cancer.

    6. Removal of high denomination currency notes from the economy - Government should immediately recall high denomination notes from the economy to prevent internal black money formation. Today we have 100 lakh crores of black money circulating inside our economy and thats because Rs. 1000, Rs.500 notes make it easier for corrupt people to transport, carry and store large sums of money for purpost of illegal and corrupt dealings. These notes should be removed immediately. There is no use of these notes when 80 crore+ people in our country live on a daily income of Rs.20 and never get the luxury of even seeing a Rs.500 note.

    7. Educational curriculum in Bharatiya Languages - Curriculum and examinations of engineering, medical, agriculture should be made available in Bharatiye languages too and as fast as possible so that even a villager can get education properly instead of being deprived on the name of a foreign language(English) which we are using as the primary mode of education even after 64 years of independence. What a shame! We are not against english. But we must learn to respect our own languages first.

    8. Ban the Land Acquisition Act - This act was brought by the Britishers to loot us and what a shame that we still have this law and its also being used to loot the poor farmers till date who are the people providing and catering to the hunger needs of our nation. This agricultural loot needs to be stopped NOW!

    9. Direct election of the Prime Minister - History has shown that indirect selection of Prime Ministers has only lead to political troubles because most of the time the PM is busy safeguarding his chair putting national interest at stake. Political instability and personal conflicts in parties lead to instability in the governance just because of this reason. So the PM should be directly elected by the people and should be directly accountable to the citizens of this country.

    10. Enactment of a strong Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act - If any citizen is denied service by any govt official within a stipulated period of time then the concerned official will have to pay penalty in the form of money to the particular citizen on a daily/weekly basis. This will help to make execution of government offices faster and prevent laziness and bribery.

Ramdev Baba fights back for black money

Yog Guru Ramdev Baba today began his indefinite hunger strike at the Ram Leela Maidan in New Delhi.  This is indefinite strike and will go on unless all his demand are211123_149512088448161_614099_n accepted and being action immediately. Ramdev Baba is in no mood to wait for 3 -6 months with a committee forming and looking into it.  He is adamant for action to be performed immediately or in a month.

Ramdev Baba does not want the Lokpal Bill acted to be repeated which looks like it will not be drafted by June 30 the deadline given by Anna Hazare, as Government has thrown the ball to the state Government minister to accept and give their opinion on the bill.

The stage for the hunger strike is no less than a 5 star facility which Ramdev Baba and his followers have created for the movement.  This pandal has about 1000 fans, 1300 toilets, larger LCD Screen, Water facility round the clock, ICU present at the location and all kinds of facilities required.  The pandal is about 70 feet long.

With Ramdev Baba main agenda being "Bring back black money and declaring it as national assets".  There are also many question raised on the Baba Ramdev funding for the movement, his property, followers, support for the movement and his eagerness to gain the top of position of India.

Some of the Highlights of Day 1 of "Bhrashtachar Mitao Satyagraha" Movement:

  • Yog Guru Baba Ramdev began his indefinite hunger strike at 7:00 am.
  • With his regular prayers and yog excerise, Baba started his day.
  • There were about 50000 people gathered in the Ram Leela Maidan.
  • Many religious leader, NGO, Social workers, Actors have joined the movement in the later part of the day.
  • Regular talks are going on with the Central Government, with 90% of Ramdev Baba demands have been accepted.
  • The movement is also taking place across the country in various parts of other states and cities.
  • By end of day, there were about 1,00,000 people present in Ram Leela Maidan for the support.

Ramdev Baba is very adamant with his demands and also not willing to agree on the reason provided by the Congress Leaders Pranab Mukherjee, Kapil Sibal, Shakeel Ahmed and with FM Minister.

Let see what are Ramdev Baba Demands for this Movement.

BJP & Yeddyurappa fate on Karnataka to be decided

With Supreme Court, rejecting the decision taken by High Court for disqualification of 16 MLAs during the Oct 2010 vote for confidence held in order to save the BJP Government in Karnataka State.

The decision has hit back CM Yeddyurappa very hardly and is on back seat, with once again on the verge of loosing the Government in the state.  However, this time, BJP top leaders have extended their support to the Chief Minister and has decided to take this issue to the President of India office. BJP Leaders Nitin Gadkari, L K Advani and Sushma Swaraj with Karnataka CM Yeddyurappa went on March to the President office on 17th May with 121 MLA support to them.  This was type of strength showcase done by Karnataka CM and also produce his recommendation to the President.

BJP Leaders and CM has recommended President to recall Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj immediately also rejecting the plea of Presidents rule in the state. H R Bhardwaj has recommended to dissolve the Government and impose President rule in the state.

However, BJP has stated that Governor has been acting not as representative of the state or Government, but acting a person who works on guidelines issued by Congress head office.  If the recommendation of Presidents rule is accepted, then Congress is thinking of making it valid for six months and then start spreading bad words about BJP and after six month declare election in the state.  It was protest all across Bangalore city today, with Congress protesting on removal of CM Yeddyurappa and BJP Leader protesting on removal of Governor HR Bhardwaj.

The Karnataka Assembly has 225 seats; without the 11 BJP 'rebel' MLAs, Mr Yeddyurappa will have 109 supporters, which is short of the half-way mark of 117.  So their support is crucial for his government and today CM Yeddyurappa had 121 MLA with him for the President March. BJP has spent a good amount for its 16 BJP who are very crucial in order to gain majority in the state.
